Shawana S. Moore, DNP, MSN, CRNP, WHNP-BC
Dr. Shawana S. Moore is a board-certified women’s health nurse practitioner (WHNP) who specializes in providing women’s and gender-related care. She is Chair of the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health. Dr. Moore served as the Director of the Women’s Health-Gender Related Nurse Practitioner Program at Jefferson College of Nursing from 2014 to 2022. She is currently Associate Professor, Clinical Track, and Director of the Doctor of Nursing Practice Program at Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing at Emory University. Dr. Moore is the author of numerous peer-reviewed articles on a variety of women’s health topics. She has helped to develop podcasts and video productions focused on the promotion of health equity and has presented nationally on this topic. As a WHNP, she has provided care for women and gender-related populations, mostly in underserved areas, for more than a decade in Philadelphia, PA, and Camden, NJ. She maintains a clinical private practice in Georgia and is a volunteer for the Center for Black Women’s Wellness.
