Dear Colleagues,
It is my pleasure in the first issue of a new year to wish everyone the best for the coming year as well as to reflect back on the previous year. Our entire Women’s Healthcare team helped us to deliver six excellent issues in 2023. We have reason to celebrate what we have accomplished. This team includes editors, authors, peer reviewers, editorial advisory board members, journal publisher, and publishing staff.
The articles published in the 2023 issues brought high-quality, interesting, and practical information we can use in clinical practice and professional development. The wide variety of content provided something for every reader. The journal engaged 86 authors and published 24 full feature articles and 24 short form articles including four position statements. Each issue included a continuing education (CE) article worth 1.0 contact hours. A total of 673 contact hours were obtained by our readers through these CE articles in 2023. Thank you to all of the authors.
A special thank you is extended to all those who peer reviewed manuscripts for us in 2023:

Our editorial advisory board (EAB) members provide guidance on potential topics for the journal by reviewing feedback from readers on what they want and by keeping abreast of contemporary issues in the women’s and gender-related health arena. Our EAB members also contribute by peer reviewing manuscripts, submitting manuscripts of their own, and encouraging colleagues to submit manuscripts on relevant topics. The work they do is appreciated very much. I want to recognize and thank Ludrena Rodriguez for her important contributions as she rotates off the EAB to join the NPWH board of directors. To learn more about our EAB members, go to npwomenshealthcare.com/editorial-advisory-board.
The HealthCom Media publishing team is outstanding. Their diverse talents keep us moving forward and looking our best. Their commitment to publishing a journal and creating a social media presence we can all be proud of is evident in all they do.
Beyond the journal, I want to thank the individuals who participated on writing groups for NPWH position statements created and approved by the NPWH board of directors in 2023. The writing group members bring expertise and dedication to a process that takes time and a willingness to interact in a meaningful way with each other to create position statements that reflect the NPWH mission and values. In 2023, the NPWH board of directors approved two new position statements and one updated position statement:
Primary Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease in Women– Carolyn Bottone-Post, Lynne Bruan, Beth Kelsey, Jean Marino,
Ludrena Rodriguez
Eliminating Preventable Maternal Deaths (updated)–Jennifer Hawn (lead writer), Angela Alston, Beth Kelsey, Sue Kendig, Vanessa Garcia, Shawana Moore
We are planning to continue to provide you with a broad selection of outstanding articles in the journal issues in 2024.
