Angela D. Alston, NPWH Editorial Advisory Board MemberDr. Angela D. Alston is Assistant Professor of Clinical Nursing, Lead Faculty in the Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) Specialty Track, and Chief Diversity Officer at The Ohio State University College of Nursing. She has over 15 years of experience as a WHNP and has practiced in a variety of clinical settings, including correctional health. In addition to faculty and leadership roles, she maintains clinical practice as a WHNP. Her clinical area of interest is in health disparities in women’s health, including general gynecology and obstetrics. She is published in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion and served as a team member on the development of the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health (NPWH) position statement “Structural Racism and Implicit Bias in Women’s Healthcare.” Dr. Alston has given numerous local and national presentations, is active with several professional organizations, and is an inaugural Innovation and Entrepreneurship Fellow at The Ohio State University College of Nursing. She is a strong proponent of mentorship, advancing women’s health services, and providing a more equitable healthcare experience for all.
