Duke University School of Nursing WHNP Student
I am a native of Florence, South Carolina, and earned my BA in Comparative Women’s Studies from Spelman College in 2019 (Atlanta, GA). After graduating, I matriculated to Duke University’s Accelerated Bachelors of Nursing Program and graduated in 2020.
While practicing as a full-time Mother/Baby Registered Nurse at Duke University, I am working to obtain my Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) through Duke’s WHNP Program. Additionally, I plan to pursue my Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) focused on women’s health in hopes of one day owning my own Women’s Health Clinic, committed to justice and equity for all women.
I have always been interested in Women’s Health because of my commitment to advancing health literacy, justice, and equity. My experiences with injustice in the health field encourage me to be a committed advocate for those not afforded the same luxury of receiving education or utilizing their voice, especially women of color. It is my goal not only to be the best provider I can be but also to be the change agent needed.
