This article provides novice nurse practitioners (NPs) or NP students, as well as NP students’ instructors and preceptors, with detailed information needed to safely perform an incision and drainage of a Bartholin gland abscess or large symptomatic Bartholin gland cyst with placement of a Word catheter or wound packing.
